Finding jobs through social media

Finding work experience is something that is pushed towards us students through out the entire university experience, And lets face it doing the degree may be fun and a great insight of the ‘real world’ but getting there is a whole different story.

My biggest problem was I wasn’t quite sure where to look, but I’ve recently discovered a quick and easy way to find jobs, internships and work placement- all in one place!

I stumbled upon an internship opportunity at BPR a Beauty PR agency based in London, when they had tweeted about it on twitter. After a few email exchanges and creating some trial material- I had got the job!

After this experience it led to some further curiosity and I found that some of the best internship, work placement, or job opportunities are all advertised on twitter; it was almost a crazy discovery and all I can say is… welcome to the new age.

Here are some of my favourite twitter accounts for finding work opportunities in PR, Jouranalism and Media.

Bonus tip! Still can’t find something for you? Why not try searching key words into twitter e.g.: ‘PR internship London” “Beauty PR internship” etc.…
